I’ve been blogging since 2005, and while that hasn’t stopped me from almost killing my blog trying to do a simple WordPress blog upgrade, I’ve learned a few tricks along the way. Roxilla began as a group blog in 2006, and along the way it became my own little space on the web. It’s a lot like me – a big melting pot of randomness, hehe. 
If you’ve been reading my blog a while, you will have picked up a bit about me. What you see is (mostly) what you get, sometimes I am gloomy and sometimes I have ingenious ideas and other times I just feel too excitable to do much else than ramble. The randomness is every bit as big a part of the essence of Rox as the pink is, deal with it!

* The occasional chick flick and ridiculous teen movie
* Old school classics like The Wizard of Oz
* Feel-good zen boosters like The Little Mermaid (love it!)
* Dark comedies, good comedies, crazy comedies… but not silly comedies
* I am also getting into Japanese horror and anime

* Trip hop (I love Portishead, Massive Attack and Tricky long time)
* Hip hop and old rap (give me some old LL Cool J or Warren G any day!)
* Country legends like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson
* When I’m in the mood, drum ‘n bass, dub step and electronica will also do
Books and authors I heart…

* Haruki Murakami (everything from Norwegian Wood to Kafka on the Shore)
* Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse Books)
* Steven King (there may be one or two books I haven’t read)
* Ray Bradbury (The Lotus Eaters especially)
* Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist)
* Philip K. Dick (The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch especially)
* Mario Puzo (The Last Don especially)
Other stuff I heart…

* My cats (Sonic, my black and white older cat and Jasper, my ginger teenage kitteh)
* Hearts, pink stuff, frilly stuff, pretty stuff and all other things ridiculously girly
* Good bubbly, Merlot, Shiraz, Pinotage, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir
* Chocolate (especially Sweetie Pies and Lindt Touch of Sea Salt!)
* Green tea, peppermint tea, chai tea, jasmine tea, green rooibos and many other tea
* Dresses (this is a bit of a bad habit when it comes to being a shoppaholic like me)
* Shopping – whether it’s Kloof Street or China Town, high-end or cheap-ass!
* Pizza, oysters, veg lasagna, avo toast, cheese and marmite rice cakes, strawberries and corn frittas
* Long Street, Kloof Street, the Bo Kaap, Table Mountain and my crazy ghetto of a neighbourhood
Mostly, I’m just trying to live the thirty, flirty and thriving dream in the beautiful city of Cape Town. Enjoy my little ramblings, and feel free to leave a comment or sign up for my feeds.
