As World Food Day approaches this week, on 16 October 2010, we should all be stopping to consider our eating habits, and how this compares with the average eating habits of children across Africa and beyond. While the world’s developed nations are slowly starting to make a difference, there are still far too many children going without a proper meal, resulting in huge problems from the immediate threat of malnutrition, disease and death, all the way through to learning problems and even difficulty in finding work. This is what makes World Food Day such an important day – highlighting the huge need for us to come together to unite against hunger.
The Save the Children foundation has put together an interactive quiz that drives home the reality of food consumption in the world, giving us a new understanding of what it really means to be hungry. To show your support this World Food Day, take this quiz and see how much (or little!) you know about world hunger:
It doesn’t stop there – as bloggers and as ‘lucky’ people who have the luxury of enjoying Woolies food, pizza and even those nasty vegetables like spinach that we take for granted, we have the power to make a difference in this world.

Hi there,
You will have to go to the Save The Children website at http://www.savethechildren.org/ to find out more information. I have no affiliation to the organisation, and am just spreading the word about their campaigns.
