#SWC – Feel it, it is HERE!

Today I joined thousands of fellow South Africans in a Vuvuzela Moment at noon. To say that it was an emotionally charged experience is an understatement – I was close to tears as I saw bergies, office workers, restaurant staff, car guards, etv crew and every other Kloof Street local (I swear I even saw a Kloof Street Druggie!) unite to blow our vuvezelas, wave our flags, hoot our horns and smile like complete maniacs. I felt so damn proud to be part of this nation, and the atmosphere on Kloof Street was just so unbelievable… it is finally hitting home for many of us, the Soccer World Cup is HERE at last, and we are all part of it!

The boss is letting us off at 1pm on Friday AND he’s organised a section at Neighbourhood. So I will be watching the kick off at my favourite place, with great people, in the greatest city on Earth. If that isn’t reason enough to go crazy and get swept away by SWC Fever, than fuck, I don’t know! And for all the haters who don’t want to join in, you are missing out on the chance to celebrate one of the biggest events for this country EVER.

Here are some pics from today’s ‘gees’ awesomeness…

Yes, I look like I’m smoking the damn thing, and yes, I also look like I’m about to pass out. It’s harder than it looks though, especially with one hand! I still need to work on my vuvu skills, but I’m getting there. ;-)

Where were you during the Vuvuzela Moment, and where will you be on Friday?

    Hi Rox

I tried to blow the damn Vuvu today but it’s not that easy!!! LMAO

I will watch the opening ceremony on tv (under a blanket … it’s freezzing cold here)

    Enjoy!!

Hehehe, ye – I suck at it big time, but it’s fun. ;-)

I am working tomorrow evening so won’t be watching much of the pre-event stuff or concerts, but Friday will be a big one – really excited!!
