At the risk of being a total tea snob…

green rooibos

I am turning into a complete tea addict, thanks to my lovely co-worker. I used to drink a lot of tea, especially green tea and jasmine, and chamomile… but over the past few months I have gained a new respect for the art of tea and while this does not mean I have quite given up on my old flame caffeine, I am now happy to stick to two cups of coffee a day, and dedicate the rest of the day to my budding collection of divine teas.

Current favourites include the Biedhouw range of rooibos blends, especially the peppermint one and the vanilla. Biedhouw also do a great hoodia one (perfect for mid-mornings and mid-afternoons) and a cancer bush one (a lot like plain rooibos, but smoother and loaded with health benefits).

Yesterday however I managed to score a super awesome find, green unfermented rooibos! This is like the champagne of teas, the mecca of infusions. It has all the goodness of rooibos, but is packed with far more antioxidants as the leaves are unprocessed green leaves. Therefore it’s like regular green tea, but even better, because it has no caffeine!

It tastes pretty good too, somewhere between a regular green tea and rooibos, with a fresh grassy taste and a pretty yellowish colour. It’s not as sweet as regular rooibos either, which is a bonus if you don’t take sugar (seriously, it’s been about 3 years now, and my sweet tooth is slowly but surely vanishing!).

Biedhouw Valley also do lemongrass one I’m keen to try, and I’m also curious to see how their fennel tea tastes. At this point, I am slowly turning into a tea junkie, I need new and different teas to get my antioxidant fix!

Anyway, time to get dresses and get ready for work. Almost weekend, and while my plans of putting my Brazilian Portuguese phrases to work on Long are not looking likely with this cough, I’m just as happy to be able to hang with kitten and play with my lovely new Crackberry. ;-)

While I’m not 100% comfortable with “hacking”, this hoodia list at least gives me some options.

Well, you clearly have no trouble with spamming, but without a link back, you don’t have any options anymore. :-)
