the way forward looked challenging

With a raging sore throat and a very long and painful day just passed, it feels a million years away from the sunshine, Savanna and catch up on a sunny balcony over the long weekend. The only thing in common with those blissful hours is the UB40 I’ve been blasting along with Sisters of Mercy and Skunk Anansie. It’s not the same without sunshine… sigh.

Nevertheless, it was a great weekend – managed to get the work-life balance right, did what I needed to do, spent quality time with family and friends, made some new ones, even had a bit of a bender… and met an utterly divine boy from Brazil (but forgot to give my number, oops), collected a nice hoard of Easter eggs, had a good sleep through Monday and got a lot of chillax in too.

Some thoughts over the weekend…

1. Sometimes it’s good to chill at home, with a kitten, some food and a glass of wine.
2. I need to learn a few Portuguese phrases, these would have come in handy on Sunday.
3. Blogger bashes slash Tweet ups are awesome, as are the bloggers and Twitter peeps who attend.
4. Dubliner is insane, always. True story.
5. Nothing can top a few hours of balcony chillax at Rafikis, with reggae, good company and sunshine.
6. I now have multiple confirmations that I have the World’s Cutest Kitten.
7. A great review and nice bonus is a good way to kick off a long weekend.
8. I can cause a great deal of havoc if left on my own for too long.
9. Which is just as well, because I like wreaking havoc sometimes.
10. Happiness has a habit of sneaking up on you.

This month I just want to focus on work, try and minimise extra work, find another boy from Brazil, learn a bit of Portuguese, enjoy my kitten, see people I care about and enjoy the little things.

After all, this is the last month before the you-know-what… want to ensure that I kick things off in style.

P.S. In case I haven’t mentioned this already, I am loving bumper tourist season.
