Weekends: Productive, Rewarding

I can’t believe that it’s Sunday already, this weekend has flown past! So much for resting it out, ending up being quite a productive and inspiring one, just what I needed actually.

Saturday I woke up fairly early to get some work done, and then was taken out for lunch by a friend at Gardens Centre. Bit of a chillax, then it was time to head out to Constantia for a family get-together at the Barnyard (stunning as always, hadn’t been in ages!). By the time I got home in the early evening, my painkillers had kicked in and all I was good for was couch and movies. First it was Bewitched (adored it) and then Mindhunters (very iffy, more on this one later) then some messing around online til just before 1am or so.

Today after sleeping badly, I woke up feeling full of energy. A mission to Checkers to stop up on smoothie fodder, and I could have my breakfast smoothie. Then, instead of resting and keeping the back safe I was hit by an urge to carry out my bedroom shifting plans I have been dying to do for weeks. This involved some measuring, and of course swearing when the stupid tape measure shot closed – taking off a chunk of my finger with it. Then I had to huff and puff and push my bed where I wanted it to go and move as much out of the way as possible to de-clutter. It was totally worth it though, my bedroom looks much bigger now.

All it needs is the final touch, this being the artwork I’ve been working on for ages. I managed to finish it today, and it looks pretty darn awesome – it’s big, and pink and involves lots of hearts. Tres proud of myself, now just to hang it up! :-)

This time off / recluse month thing was a good idea, really starting to feel all the stress of December lift, and when this back comes right, I will be feeling better than I have in months. Zen levels are hitting a good level, diet is sorted, caffeine free, relaxed… soon will be pain free too, and there will be no stopping me.

How was your weekend, and what did you do?

I liked quite a lot in it, but there was also stuff that irked me, hehe. That’s why I say I’m iffy about it… overall it was worth watching, just a couple of things that stood out for me. Will do my ‘review’ tonight. :-)
