inspiration
“Wax on, wax off”

Last year was all about winging it in two thousand and fine. This year it seems I am not alone in feeling inspired, and I have seen a few people share their awesome goals for the year ahead. @DT and @Brazen are just two I can think of offhand, but I’m sure many others are feeling optimistic and positive so far – with 360 days ahead of us, there is so much potential and opportunity out there, it is quite a fantastic feeling!

As for me, I have one main goal and a couple of smaller ones that kinda tie in to my main one. My main one is to cut down stress as much as possible, the others are as follows:

1. Work on the horror I’ve been writing for an embarrassingly long time
2. Cut down on freelance work and make more me-time
3. Find out how I can get more involved in my community and maybe volunteer again
4. Get a decent camera and start taking more photos again
5. Do an advanced or trick photography course
6. Run more and aim to work towards doing the Two Oceans half-marathon and/or Gun Run 10k
7. Get out more and go on fun dates with eligible bachelors, hehe
8. Get another tattoo (and maybe a haircut)
9. Get my car battery sorted and get driving!
10. See my sister more often – either here or there

For the first time in a good few months, things are stable on the work front. I am on the right track mostly, doing what I love and slowly but surely setting things into motion to grow my career, and that is a great feeling. After the stresses of last year, and the hard knock freelance (and joblessness) times, it’s good to be working my way back up, and I have no doubt that things can only get better.

So that just leaves the ‘me’ stuff… all the things I haven’t really been able to do because I have been too busy killing myself on the work front. Now that things are on track in that regard, I can focus on myself and start achieving a few personal goals.

I’ve had the strangest feeling the past month or so – it feels like things are finally coming round again full circle, and I can finally see where I can to go this year. Clarity or maybe I’m just growing up; I don’t know. What I do know is that this is going to be a big year, I can feel it in me bones!
