Rollercoaster

“Time weighs down on you like an old ambiguous dream. You keep on moving, trying to slip through it. But even if you go to the ends of the earth, you won’t be able to escape it. Still, you have to go there – to the edge of the world. There’s something you can’t do unless you get there.”
— Haruki Murakami (Kafka on the Shore)

I don’t know about the rest of you, but this month is spiraling into some sort of strange surreal disaster zone that has but one outcome – holidays. Burn out is something I’ve been living with for the past few months, so I’ve stopped feeling exhausted and get worried when I DO get a proper night’s sleep. An ancient filling that came loose a while back has now finally started giving me hell though, and that is a whole other story – I do not deal with pain well, not that kind anyway. Throw in the ‘deadline that never ends’ and a messed up back, and of course a myprodol haze, and things tend to get rather strange.

It’s not all bad though… Reality Bites is on, and I’ve been fobbing off praise at work all week for a press release I did, and there may be some very interesting opportunities ahead next year. A lot of laughs, frowns, tempers and blood, sweat and tears at the office, and another fresh single to share this strange time. A feeling of excitement bubbling up, and some easy flirting with the charmers at work. News of a brand new one day old kitten at my sister’s place, and the thought of her spending some time in the city with me before Christmas. Balcony chillax, Savannas, freedom. I just want to be able to breath again.

For now, despite a rather smooth (and thanks to myprodol, painless) cruise downhill, it’s getting back to the start of the slope as I push through this last deadline. That means a rather boring weekend, but whatever it takes to get this thing with.

Gotta get up and get down! :-)

Shame Rox hope you get some time over the week end to relax for a bit and that you hit your deadlines.

    Love me x

    Thanks nyak!

It has been a week from hell – makes last week look fun, lol. But finishing up tonight (yay) and got paid (double yay) so at least there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. :-)
