Star of Kelp 09: Patron XO

It’s so hard to believe that two thousand and wine is coming to a close already… time has just flown, and a hugely busy, crazy and challenging (not to mention awesome) year is almost over. I doubt I would have survived without the help of my obsessions – from my BFF caffeine to the ever-present wine, various gadgets, beauty products, clothes and other things, it’s certainly been the year of Needful Things.

Without any further adieu, here is my big list of Needful Things of 2009…

1. Coffee – from gorgeous cappuccinos on Long to daily java at the office, just can’t live without it!
2. Wine – this was the year I discovered reds, and my tastes developed across a wider range
3. Nivea – I’m an addict; deo, face products, self-tan, body lotion… you name it, I have it
4. Wellness Warehouse – all sorts of affordable, organic wonders have been enjoyed here
5. Dresses – despite never managing to find a LBD, I managed to find in all sorts of other colours
6. Nail Polish – all colours, lots and lots of beautiful, shimmery, colourful nail polish!
7. Ink – I got my seventh tattoo this year, behind my right ear – it’s my current fave
8. Colour – this year I went beyond the pink, to discover brights… still pink at heart though, hehe
9. Planet Bar – some memorable moments at this gorgeous bar, which will always hold a special place
10. Fat Cactus – aka work after-party venue, home to frozen margaritas and chilled vibe
11. Neighbourhood – despite a bit of an absence these past few months, Hood remains the shiz
12. Law & Order – best show ever, without a doubt!
13. Robot Chicken – there was no going back after I got hooked on this, love it forever!
14. Dexter – serial killer with a heart of gold… what’s not to love?
15. Heels – my beloved gold vintage sandals, pink satin peep toe wedges and round toe stilettos rocked
16. Jeans – I need new ones, but my precious TBY straight-legged jeans will never die!
17. The Cure – every year I love them more, my absolute favourite band ever
18. Deco Dance – too many memories here, many of them make me want to cry right now
19. Cardigans – worn and battered but much-loved, I can’t get enough of my little cardis
20. Hoops – no outfit is complete without big ass silver hoops – love them to bits!
21. Patron – nectar of the gods, another year of deliciousness and good vibes
22. Savanna – it’s dry, but I can drink it (and believe me, I can drink it!)
23. Charms – had a few charms on my neck chain, all equally sentimental and important
24. Home – despite all the flaws, this flat has been scene to many great memories
25. Romance – I realised that there was a romantic side to me after all, who knew?
26. Candles – for bath, bedroom, lounge and everywhere else I could put them
27. Zen Book – useful advice and continuous inspiration, this book is too awesome
28. Woolworths – close, convenient and stocking all sorts of awesomeness!
29. Friends – they’ve been here through the good times, bad times and sad times
30. The How To Do Everything Book – seriously, this was the best present of 2009
