HQ: perfect venue for a loud, fabulous and highly entertaining bash

It’s quite something that I am up and about and rather perky at just after 7am on a Saturday morning, but then again it wasn’t such a late one yesterday – that’s one bonus of office lunches, you get started early and have all day!

Ours was at Headquarters, been there when it’s a club but hadn’t eaten there so was interested to see how it looked by day. We had the mezzanine level to ourselves, and from the moment we arrived to enjoy ice cold Rose, I knew it was going to be a manic one. Wine progressed to beers and cider, and then the fun began. The copywriters had put something together, and had been hard at work planning a little ‘awards’ thing. We all had a turn to say our thing, and there were many, many laughs as we got to embarrass the shite out of our co-workers. We all got nice gift vouchers from the bosses, which was really awesome and then finally we decided it was time to eat (this being close to 3pm already, hehe). The salad was divine, with greens, Parmesan and pine nuts, and then it was on the mains. As a vegetarian, at a place like HQ that focuses on steaks, I was curious to see what I’d get – as it turns out, grilled giant mushroom, not bad at all. Some good Merlot, yet another Hunters Dry, blurry discussions and more hilarity and then it was almost over. I wasn’t quite ready to call it a day though, so after a quick call to my newly re-instated wing chick DT, she came to collect me and we walked down to Long where FIFA draw and festival mayhem was brewing…

There were cops everywhere, people everywhere – pouring out of balconies, flooding the streets… utter chaos but also very exciting. We managed to make our way to Neighbourhood at last, which was packed as expected. A few Savannas later and I was feeling somewhat wasted at last, and then next thing I was back home and too tired to try and sit through the etv action movie (even though it was Kickboxer 2). I woke up around 6ish this morning feeling very wide awake and have been up ever since. I’m waiting for Courage the Cowardly Dog to come on, then I will get working.

The best part is that it’s only Saturday, and I get to go out again tonight with Partner in Crime. The city should be a bit calmer tonight, and I can’t wait to kick back and have some fun!

Looks like Kelp 09 may just be a good one after all, and my mojo is on a major increase. Yayness.
