I have been a Bush and Gavin Rossdale fan since I was about 15. High school druggie ex was very into them, and I will always be transported back to the lounge at his parent’s house… very beautiful house in Rondebosch, lots of subtle furnishings and huge gold picture frames. Stolen afternoons getting hammered on Graca and the endless walks, bicycle rides and later scooter rides to and from our houses. Nothing like teenage love hey, sad and sweet and somehow unreal.
Anyway, while f’ed up druggie ex is long gone and mostly forgotten, my love for Bush and old Gav have never faded. Love Remains the Same is still my favourite off his new solo album, but this song is also something special. He really does have the sexiest voice, and the lyrics as always are just heartbreaking.
