SABC3 FAIL

September 1st, 2009

It never fails to make me laugh, every time I see yet another balls up with SABC3 programming. First, it was the mysterious floating clocks that would appear (usually during Isidingo) for a few seconds and then stop. The cut off shows that suddenly cut to ads mid-drama. The constant discrepancies between the TV guide and actual broadcasting. It’s almost like you start to expect bad programming, it’s that common.

So you can imagine what a non-surprise it was when they managed to stuff up the much-awaited Survivor: China finale last night – after building up to the final voting, all of a sudden we noticed that the credits were rolling. Sure we’d been chatting over our wine, but we couldn’t have missed the whole thing, could we have? When the reunion show came on afterwards, we were even more confused… until a half-ass apology screened today came on, and things started making a bit more sense.

Basically, someone in programming needs to (pardon the pun) get with the programme! As it is I way prefer Etv, but certain shows can only be found on SABC3, so it really sucks that they keep messing up. The floating clocks were funny, ruining Survivor finale however was just wrong.

And watch, not only will things stay exactly the same, but I bet no-one at SABC3 understands the concept of Reputation Management, which means no explanation will be given whatsoever.

Sigh… I really ought to invest in DSTV soon.

Good grief! I never remember SABC being like that, but then I suppose they are really bankrupt and just mad really! That is pretty funny skipping the actual winning moment!

It was classic, couldn’t help but laugh! They only seem to have gotten this bad in the past year or so, quite something really.
