Today my healthy ambitions came back to bite me in the bum.
It’s been one of those Mondays, and to make up for my not-so-healthy lunch of Vida cappuccino and custard croissant thingy I ignored the wine isle and the peanut Chuckles at Woolies this evening after gym. Yes, vitamin water and salad stuff is probably better for me, but do you think that was comfort enough when I came home to find my bathroom flooded? It just isn’t the same – I need wine dammit!
Still, I had a really good gym session tonight, by the last 20 minutes on the stepper I was dripping sweat… it was awesome. I’m still too scared to attempt a run on the treadmill (I have never liked treadmills!) but a 20 minute power walk with varying inclines and speeds is almost as good as a run – and then going straight into a cycle, starting with a heart-rate of 160 was really getting me going… until some chick knocked the plug and I had to reboot the bike half-way through. Not cool. Then the stepper was occupied, so I did the circuit (minus the steps in-between) and then could finally get onto the stepper.
By the time I shlepped out of Lifestyles on Kloof with my laptop and work clothes to mission up the hill in the dark, I was walking like a zombie but now I’m starting to chill out at last.
I don’t think I feel like salad tonight, so I might just go the mozzarella, tomato and pesto toast route instead… that’s not TOO bad, and hell, I need carbs today!
Well i’m having a healthy cognac you know you need to put some yang into the equation if the yin be the good intentions; so next time just get yourself some wine and chocolate good for the heart and the circulation they be
I wish I had the willpower and foresight to have these essentials in stock, but I can’t seem to get it right.
I thought you were going to be driving where you needed to go from now on? If you’re still walking I don’t see why you can have wine and chocolate at all!
I work just off Kloof, and live about 5 mins away… there’s no parking nearby so no point in taking car.
P.S. I was prepared today, so now have wine and chocolate at last, yay.
