The lovely Louisa recently tipped me off about a really weird spam type thing she saw in Google Reader feeds, which looks something like this:

As you can see if you scroll down the page, that wasn’t exactly what I posted, and clicking through to the post delivered the post as normal. So how on earth did spammers manage to make my post look like spam in the feed? It’s the weirdest thing, I’m running WordPress 2.7, and from looking at my posts in edit mode I can’t see anything amiss, so short of upgrading to 2.8 and changing my passwords, I have no idea how to combat this.
I did some research, and it turns out I’m not the only one who’s had this issue – it’s amazing the lengths spammers will go to, phew!
So, if you see any reference to online meds or anything in your feeds, it’s most likely not my real post.
Did you resolve it yet?
I have no idea how to fix it, none of the info I’ve found offers a solution… other than unsubscribing and resubscribing to feeds.
It seems to only be in Google Reader as far as I can tell.
