After a morning Cherry Med-Lemon and 2 cappuccinos at my meeting, I think I have reached my caffeine limit for the morning. Not feeling as rough as I did yesterday though, which is good news indeed.

Some of the random musings I’ve had this morning:

1. I honestly have the best clients, like ever. From one who signs off emails with x, to the author who is loads of fun to work with, I’m loving the book industry – really inspiring and rewarding.
2. Caramello’s in Lifestyles on Kloof is the ideal meeting venue. Good sized tables, excellent cappuccinos, hot boys in suits having power breakfasts… gotta love it!
3. I may not love my curls, but everyone else does. I let them loose today, and not one but three people complimented me on my hair, two of these being total strangers. Yet when I look in the mirror, I just see a huge mess, it’s the weirdest thing.
4. I have a free hour with a personal trainer this afternoon. While I am feeling a bit better, I am still somewhat fluey, but apparently they will mostly be putting together a customised work-out and I should be ok. I feel like an idiot for not postponing til I’m better, and lord knows how I will cope with any sort of work-out at all, but will see.
5. My cats are driving me crazy. The fat one is at least behaving fairly well, but Sonic has been pulling down the curtains, sleeping on my laptop every time I leave it for even a few minutes, trying to escape, kicking me and his head or anything that gets in his way, and generally being a pain in the ass.
6. There are cows wandering around outside. Seems that the farm animals have found another gap in the fence, too bad my camera batteries are flat! I know they shouldn’t be roaming the streets, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a kick out of seeing farm animals in the city. I love this neighbourhood.

It’s Youth Day tomorrow and the rest of the non-freelancing world (well, here in South Africa anyway) is on holiday. This may or may not be reason enough for Savanna, we shall see.
