Look this seal in the eye and then try and ignore this post!

It’s that time of year again people. The time of year when hundreds of thousands of Harp seals are cruelly slaughtered in Canada, despite monumental efforts to stop the worlds largest mammal slaughter.

As the Humane Society Protect Seals website says, ‘it’s not a hunt, it’s an atrocity’. So far, in just a few days, 17, 200 Harp seals have already been killed. Many of them are alive when they are skinned, and all of them face fear, pain and anguish during these hellish months.

Despite efforts to ban seal products in the EU, this bullshit is STILL happening – and Canada’s name is hitting rock bottom as they fail once again to do the right thing and stop the slaughter. Instead, they feed us a whole bunch of lies and try and justify the hunt. Thank god for free press and awesome technology however – these give a more realistic view of what really goes down, and makes it even easier for us to get involved as best we can.

So, if you have even the faintest compassion for these poor animals, and you are as disgusted and upset as I am, take a minute to check out these ways to help…

Also, if you have a blog, then please post this and get others to support this cause. It may already be too late for many of Canada’s seals, but the more international pressure their government faces, the harder it is to conduct the hunt with their current half-assed safety and humane efforts.
