Lark @ The Assembly… Rad to the Power of Sick!!

lark
Awesomeness.

We went to see Lark on the last leg of their Brave Tour at The Assembly last night… and man am I glad we went!

While it is still unclear whether this reunion will see this incredible group reunite for good in the studio or not, it was just so awesome to see them live again. For those who haven’t had the luxury of hearing Lark, boo for you – they are quite possibly the most talented group I’ve ever heard, which faultless sound, kickass electronica and Inge’s operatic voice ranges delivering the most intense music you will probably ever hear.

They played many old favourites, from their first album Mouth of Me as well as second album Razbliuto and also some new material, including the epic love song (like no lovesong you’ve heard, believe it!) Brave, and Assembly was packed beyond belief and full of cute scruffy types.

We did have to wait in a queue, but then again we had stopped past Neighbourhood for a Patron beforehand so only got there around 11ish. After Lark we hit Cubana, after first making a detour past DT’s place. She very kindly loaned me her killer Nine West stilettos… which may or may not have played a part in attracting the attentions of a rather cute Argentinian with blond hair who latched on to me like a puppy.

Shame, he was quite sweet really but hard to get rid of when we wanted to leave. Much as I wished I could take him home and keep him, Argentinian men tend to get on my nerves after a few hours. He was cute though, just what I needed for a Friday the 13th zen boost! :-)

I’m a bit hungover today, not too bad though. I have a bit of work to do til lunchtime or so, then I must make a mission to the shops, then I’m relishing the thought of an afternoon on the couch – Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the orginal 90′s movie!!) is coming on at 14h00, should be good.

Happy weekend wherever you are, hope you’re feeling the awesomeness.

I wish I could find that damn song online somewhere, maybe can find it on their website at some stage. And ja, I totally agree on the scruffy boy thing – we must do that again!
