I was tagged by Louisa to do this cool photo tag.
Here’s how it works:
1. Access the folder / location on your hard drive where you store your photos.
2. Go to the 6th folder, and pick out the 6th picture in that folder.
3. Now post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind it.
4. Finally tag 6 other people to do the same.
This is a photo of my beloved San Pedro mescal cactus, and a bit of my bookshelf. This lovely cactus is the only plant I can’t kill, and I’ve had it for about 2 years. I bought it from some dude on Long Street one afternoon when I was chilling at Lola’s, and so far I’ve only had to replant it once, when the cats knocked it out of its pot. Re-potting a cactus is no easy feat I will have you know, even using oven gloves. The half-dead succulents next to the San Pedro are holding on, they’re tougher than they look.
On top of the bookshelf are some photographs – a black and white one of a tree that a friend took, a picture of me as a kid on a swing, and a ragged tooth shark at the end. These are the only photographs I have displayed, they all mean something to me.
The bookshelf is a bit chaotic, with everything from Terry Pratchett to Jilly Cooper, Stephan King and Hunter S to my classic 1953 Better Homes cookbook. What can I say, I have eclectic taste in literature.
Well, that’s my photo explained – now it’s your turn.
That is so weird, last time I was in Cape Town on holiday wewent to Lola’s and this guy tried to sell me a cactus. I love cacti and would have bought it but i couldn’t bring it back to the UK.
Oh hectic, must have been the same dude – he’s been around the hood for ages.
Only on Long Street can you buy anything from cacti to drugs – crazy place indeed.
i don’t have photos, i’m kinda weird that way.
i’ve got a file for pics and the 6th photo was an invoice for software purchased online.
Hahaha, ok – well in that case you’re excused.
You’re book shelf looks a lot like mine…or how mine usually looks when all it’s contents are not still sitting packed in boxes.
Hehehe, I have an interesting book shelf.
P.S. I also tend to leave stuff in boxes for months after I move… ends up being ‘alternative storage’.
