For the first time in almost two weeks I slept well last night… I was dithering over whether I should stay up and watch The Birdcage, or get an early one, and man am I glad I opted to go to bed!
I had set my alarm for 5am to prepare myself to get up at 5h45, but forgot to reset it and had it on snooze. Suddenly realised I had overslept when I got the missed call from my running partner which meant she was outside. Had to haul ass out of bed and get dressed, stretch, feed cats and get myself together in record time, but I did it. It was a fairly good run, not the best I’ve had but did the trick.
There comes a time during health kicks or diets when you get sick of everything, and you don’t want to eat healthy stuff. I’ve had a busy morning, with missions and runs and client meetings and Outlook crashes, and I don’t WANT apple, or salad, or green tea. I want a Spar veggie roll, or TWO veggie rolls. I want cheesecake, or hot chips, or pita with falafal.
There is no bread in the house, and nothing even remotely unhealthy. I pondered getting biscuits for my client meeting, but didn’t. Sigh.
Guess it’s instant coffee and apple for me. Oh well, I’m going on a cultural excursion this afternoon to Robben Island, so will no doubt end up at the Waterfront afterwards, consoling myself with Savanna… and maybe bar snacks.
Hmmm.
Just don’t go shopping when you’re in a mood like that Rox
trust me, it’s better to have a lil something tucked away than end up with a whole trolley full of bad-but-oh-so-good stuff.
Well, didn’t make it to the shops… I went to Robben Island this afternoon, followed by early dinner at Quay Four… which was fries and veggie basket, so not TOO bad.
Still, I had a bit of a lapse and that’s fine because I needed it. I’ve been working my ass off and never bad to have a break every now and then!
Coffee and an apple? How do you survive?
That was just a snack!
Not the same as coffee and chocolate, but it does the trick.
