Sonic doing his Face Off impression, awful
My cat Sonic has been an Emo Cat for a long time, and for many months he battled with his little ‘self-mutilation’ issue.
He’s been funneled, and he’s been to the vet more times than any other cat I know. He’s had months when things have been really, really bad and an then almost a solid year of no kicking. Lately his allergies and itches have flared up, and he’s started kicking his face again. I just can’t tell you how much I hate to see him looking like a face transplant candidate, it’s truly awful and nothing will help ease the itching and stop him from kicking it, other than cortizone and his pet prozac. I have to get a cortizone prescription in for him asap, in the meantime all I can do is give him one of of his happy pills, which help to a point but make him a bit trashed.
This morning I was rudely pulled out of my recovery chillax with Sonic trying to first sleep in the gap between pillows, like right against my face, and then when I moved him down a bit, I had to endure him shaking his head and splattering blood on me. Not fun, but at least I can just wash it off. It’s seeing him so uncomfortable and sore that really upsets me, it’s just not cool at all.
Oh well, at least I have one normal cat. Well, if you can call fat blobs who force their owners to stroke them by licking your arm until you lift it, then push their head underneath your arm so violently that their teeth graze your skin normal. Still, he’s a lovely boy and at least he’s not Emo!
Awwww no! Is he alright?
Shame that doesn’t look good at all, hope the medication works in his favour and he can heal quickly.
I think the fat cat wants a happy pill as well.
Other than the face, he’s fine. I think it’s more itching than anything else – right now he’s sleeping off the happy pills, lol.
And believe me, I have often considered drugging the fat one too… but knowing him, he would have the opposite reaction and become super hyper active.
