Wine vault at Riboville
I finally managed to wrap up my second last project yesterday, and after a hard day of online marketing, I needed to unwind a bit. The boy and I shared a cab and went to Neighbourhood to meet up with the rest of the kelpologist gang (you know who you are!) and entertained ourselves with Patron XO Cafe coffee liqueur tequila shots and scribbles on napkins while we waited for the others to arrive.
A quick dinner later, we were ready to make our way out. We made a detour past Riboville in St. Georges Mall, which was one of the most amazing places I’ve been to in a while. Housed in the old ABC bank, with original fittings like an ancient elevator and a vault which houses their mind-boggling wine collection (we managed to organise a quick tour – seriously recommend checking this out) and beautiful decor, this place is old world style and glamour. Having lost our couches when we were on the tour, we were moved up to the cigar lounge upstairs, and the boy and I had coffee while the others had a rather tasty glass of Graham Beck rose bubbly.
After that we finally continued to our main destination – Deco Dance in Woodstock. I have been there before on Halloween, and love it hugely, and we have been meaning to go there for ages. The awesome cheese and old classics are too cool for words, and we were all on the dancefloor rocking it to Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Metallica, Counting Crows and other classics for aaages.
Eventually they turned on the lights and everyone had to leave, by this point it was about 4h30am. I had started feeling a bit offish as early on as Riboville, and had been going easy on the drinks all night. By the time I got home, I was feeling way icky. Managed to sleep til about 6h30ish, when I eventually had to admit defeat and accept that I had some sort of tummy bug from hell.
The entire day today has been an utter nightmare – I haven’t felt this sick in ages. I have hardly been able to lie down or sleep, have been working on off at least but really battling. Slowly starting to settle down now, but I don’t think I am going to be able to stick to my date watching Walk the Line with the boy (that was arranged via his PA I might add, hehehehe).
Lots of water and rest is in order, and I am sure this thing will pass by tomorrow. Going to take the rest of the weekend easy anyway, have my final project to wrap up and a very busy week ahead with Christmas and whatnot, so better end things off on a calm note!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
Aw so sorry you are so sick
Thanks Po – slowly starting to feel vaguely human, still pretty wiped out though.
Oh well, will take it easy tonight and sure I will feel better in the morning.
Hope you’re having a good weekend!
