Couldn’t resist sneaking in a quick post

Pink tool kits: awesome I can’t believe it’s Boxing Day already, Christmas just flew past! I am off to Piketberg tomorrow, today I have a much-needed day at home to chill, pack, prepare my flat for my cousin who is house-sitting and do a million and one other things, but couldn’t resist a quick post. Christmas this year was really great – one of the nicest in ages in fact. My sister came down from Piketberg and has been staying … Read More »

BBL

Well, two double oh eight has finally come to an end. Christmas this year has really snuck up on me, I have loads of last minute things to try and do today before we go off to our big Christmas eve dinner. It’s been a pretty hectic year, a lot of major changes in my life and a lot of growing up. I ended this year on a massive note, with way too much work and play – lots of … Read More »

Festive Cheer: I Haz It

Well, kinda. To be honest, I think I am in denial. I have been working right up until today, and time has just totally gone into warp mode. Nevertheless, my Christmas tree is up and I have the usual seasonal fun of stopping the cats eating it and / or knocking it over. It’s been quite a weekend, today I have had about 3 or 4 hours sleep and I am pretty exhausted. In my current ‘work hard, play hard’ … Read More »

Weekends: Weird

Wine vault at Riboville I finally managed to wrap up my second last project yesterday, and after a hard day of online marketing, I needed to unwind a bit. The boy and I shared a cab and went to Neighbourhood to meet up with the rest of the kelpologist gang (you know who you are!) and entertained ourselves with Patron XO Cafe coffee liqueur tequila shots and scribbles on napkins while we waited for the others to arrive. A quick … Read More »

Fabulously Frivolous Fridays

Lickety Split showing us how its done So here we are again… it feels like it’s been a month or so since last Friday, so much has happened in the space of a week, it’s insane. Nevertheless, Friday is here again, and it’s a lovely day here in Cape Town, with lots to look forward to this weekend. Here’s a run-down of what’s making me smile today: 1. I had a very cool impromptu evening last night, DT and I … Read More »

Boys of the World | 2008

Male models: lots As most of us know, Cape Town is one of the most diverse places in the world, and town in particular is a huge mix of all types of people. Over this past year I have met, dated, befriended and avoided a wide range of boys from all over the world – from Cape Town to Norway. Some of them have been awesome, some have been a waste of oxygen. Some have become very good friends, others … Read More »

Bo Kaap Ice-Cream Truck Returns!

I was sitting at my desk earlier, when I suddenly heard a tremendous racket coming from the street. It took a while for the sound to register, but then it hit me – it was the sound of the famous and elusive Bo Kaap ice-cream truck! This old skool ice-cream van only operates in the Bo Kaap, and as I am technically in the hood, my road is its final route. It only runs in summer, at random times and … Read More »

Terrific Tuesdays: Summer in the City Bowl

Planet Bar: Awesome So yesterday, it being a public holiday and all, I still spent a large chunk of the day working. I did however swing past the LEAP Pet Food Chain to drop off some food for township animals – sadly my camera seems to be broken, so I wasn’t able to take any pics. After that I had a quick breakfast with a friend, and then headed home to get some work done. Later on, I met the … Read More »
