Time Warps: Reaching New Limits

My sense of time has been off for a while now, but this week I reached a new level of warpedness…

I’ve been a solid week out of sync, and it was only when I was reading a You magazine (yes, I read that crap, don’t judge me!) and saw the date and cross-checked it on my cellphone calendar that I realised that it is not in fact the 12th today but the 19th.

It’s the weirdest thing, on one level I’m aware that it’s almost the end of the month, but someone the message just doesn’t register and I have no real idea what week it is. Losing days is one thing, that’s fairly normal lately, but a whole week?! Sheesh, I need a talking watch or clock asap.

tis WEDNESDAY – 19 November 2008 – hope that helps.

Serves you right for believing what you read in the YOU.

  2. Roxilla says:

Can you tell me again what the day is tomorrow, and the next day and every day? ;-)

And You said it was the 19th, it was me who didn’t believe it.

normaly my sense of time is broken when my daily routine is disturbed…
    like when im on holiday….or freelance…same thing ( ;-P )

  4. Roxilla says:

Jealousy makes you nasty, lol. ;-)

It’s broken because time doesn’t mean anything now that I don’t work to a clock anymore.

  5. Craig says:

Hee, working from home does that too me too – I’m amazed that I haven’t managed to miss a day that I’m meant to be in office yet!

However, reading the YOU magazine is something I don’t do. And neither should you. Apparently too much Steve Hofmeyer is bad for the brain! :P

  6. Roxilla says:

Hehehe, in my defense I only buy it every now and then when my brain is in need of something totally non-challenging. And I skip over the Steve Hofmeyer bits, lol.

  7. DT says:

I know exactly what you mean – I have no idea what happened to the beginning of November! This month just speeds by and before you know it, it’s Christmas!! The YOU mag – now that brings back some memories, especially the poster in the middle, I still have one packed away, of Axl Rose looking particularly gorgeous in his prime!

  8. Roxilla says:

Aaah, I remember those posters – him and his red bandana, too cool!

The closer it gets to Christmas, the more out of sync I feel, sjoe.
