A Great Weekend, From Zula to Spur

Night-time balcony chillax at Zula

After finally recovering from a hectic tiredness on Friday, I was sufficiently awake to head off for pizza and wine at Zula on Friday night.

I have been a Zula fan since it opened, and used to spend a lot of time there in its early days. These days I don’t go that often, but whenever I do go, it’s always awesome. The Shy Guevaras were playing, which made it extra awesome, and the pizza was as good as ever (loads of chili!) and after a few glasses of wine I was feeling much more normal and chilled.

Saturday was a fairly busy one, with chores, collections and a bit of work taking up the morning, then we went through to visit our very good friend and her brand new son. At just under a week, little Liam is too precious for words, and spends his entire time as close to his mom as possible.

After a few gin & juices we headed off to Spur, with the baby as well as his big sister Camilla, who at 20 months has a lot to say (mostly ‘uh oh’ and ‘nah uh’, hehe). I always forget how much the Spur rocks – service is always great, food is great (and as for the chocolate milkshakes… hmm!) and affordable, and best of all they had baby seats, paper and crayons which managed to distract Camilla from the playground for at least most of the time we were there.

This morning I have been up since 07h00, phaffing and watching Heroes and doing as little as possible, it’s great. I was hoping to go for another run on the promenade, but it’s not looking like such a good outside day, and I’m still feeling a bit buggered. I couldn’t actually be bothered to get up or open the curtains, so I may as well spend the day chilling.

So, here’s to another great weekend – and to summer and hot days and warm cloudy days…!

P.S. I may be going to Hermanus next weekend for a friend’s birthday, I can’t wait – whales, beer, sun, braais and chillax… it doesn’t get better than that really!

P.S.S. Be sure to check out Solid Game tomorrow… yours truly will be featured for my views on men, dating and other stuff. :-)

Oh ja, she was into shoes as soon as she could walk, lol.

She adores her aunt’s pink heels especially, but any slops she sees lying around will do.
