@Chris, up until Saturday, my perspective was also lacking. It took a very big and sad thing to shift it, but it did shift.

The thing spurring the introspective happened before the mountain mission, but being up there helped put it all together… and just as Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot changes our outlook, so does looking down on the place where you just were a few minutes ago.

Hard to explain, but I guess I just realised that regardless of the things I thought were wrong, I am actually very grateful to have the things that are right which I couldn’t really notice as I was focusing on the wrongs instead.

Clarity is a wonderful thing.

don’t waste your time thinking;

to a peaceful mind the universe surrenders;

three things are essential: great doubt, great faith and great perserverance.

and finally understanding is like a ripe plum when it is ready it will to the ground on its own accord.

for the next time you want to climb that hill be sure to charge when the people come asking.

But I hear ya, gotta just breath and keep living, and thinking doesn’t always change much. It’s the doing that’s really key.
