Chili chocolate… perfect Friday fabulousness
There’s nothing quite like Fridays. They don’t always have this degree of fabulousness, but this one was a really good one – and did a lot of good for my zen levels too.
The day started out on a good note with a good driving lesson, which included parallel parking on Beach Road in Greenpoint. I totally aced it, and overall am feeling ready to pass my upcoming test. With any luck I won’t do anything stupid this time, or worse, fail on points.
In the afternoon I went to have beer and snacks at my old work, which is always great. I miss them quite a bit, and I still keep in touch, somehow always makes me feel comforted to touch base.
After that I missioned down to Lola’s to meet my cousin for a beer or two, which is something of a tradition. Lola’s is another comforting place… even with new staff, it’s always the same. You can expect a lot of street entertainment, including dodgy characters hanging around, cars being towed off, street sellers trying to convince you to buy their crappy sunglasses and ‘genuine’ Hugo Boss spray, slow service… it’s all about the vibe after all.
When I got back from Lola’s I was in the mood to go out again, so after a quick chat on gtalk, Chris and I decided to go to Extreme Hotel for a drink and long awaited catch up. This turned into a few drinks, and a mission to Neighbourhood which included tequila and a few games of fuss ball (I generally suck, if I play defense I suck a bit less though). A very good night all round!
It wasn’t a late one, and I don’t really have a hangover, despite having a very early start. I had finally managed to track down some Lindt chili chocolate, which I had to sample before I went to sleep… all I can say is that my next batch of Aztec Ice-Cream is going to rock!
Now it’s Saturday, and the sun is (mostly) shining, and I start a nice new contract next week, and I’m going back to Muaythai weekday classes (again), and my zen levels are looking better each day…
It’s nice to see the light at the end of a slump, that’s for sure!
It was a great night, thanks so much for pulling me out and getting some alcohol into my system
Chili chocolate is the best!!!
It was fun – also needed to get out and get a bit boozed, hehe.
