Shiny Happy Tuesday (on the inside anyway)

September 23rd, 2008

It’s raining again, but I don’t care. I got some really awesome news on the work front, and things are progressing nicely overall.

Hard to believe that it’s coming up for my fourth month as a freelancer – and each month I enjoy it more. What you lose in security you make up for in flexibility, better time management, less stress and much more productivity, and while not everyone enjoys it, I really love it.

I really can’t stress how totally awesome it is to work in my pajamas, and as for the motivation part… it does get easier, and I have gotten into my own routine of sorts and learnt to work around my best times. The way I see it, as long as I never miss a deadline, it doesn’t matter what time I choose to work – hours are hours after all, so it doesn’t make much difference either way.

So, here’s to new adventures and exciting prospects… and most of all, to success!

Cheers to that! Look forward to catching up on the good news soon ladyfriend, Balcony beers are calling…

  2. Po says:

Yay, Roxette, haven’t heard them in ages. Excuse my ignorance and curiosity, but what are you freelancing as? I think the flexibility and freedom sound like huge plus factors.

  3. Roxilla says:

@Tristan, thanks boetie – sure we’ll eventually get around to some balcony chillax.

@Po, I’m a copyriter – have mostly been doing web copy, but this new development will broaden my sphere into BTL as they call it (below the line, print advertising and stuff like that).

  4. Po says:

    Cool, good luck with that.

I really can’t stress how totally awesome it is to work in my pajamas – but i’d thought i’d mention it just to stress you out.

  6. Roxilla says:

Hehehe, well I’ve forfeited the security of a steady paycheck and leave and whatnot for that privilege, so I guess it evens out. ;-)

  7. 302 says:

true, that was very brave and you are in a virtual output driven niche market so why not, office hours are a total waste of time for you – really – truthfully.

  8. Roxilla says:

Indeed, I seem to have the most of my email chats with clients after 9pm even.

Only kak thing is that holidays are now totally meaningless to me. The last 2 weeks, although I’ve technically been on a break of sorts, have just hurtled past, every day goes quickly in a bit of a daze.

Working in PJs sounds like fun…

I’m glad this is working out so well for you Rox. :-)

  10. Roxilla says:

    Thanks Louisa! :-)
