View from the top…

Absolutely stunning, best view this side of the mountain!

I am not going to mention anything about our president and his weekend exit or the fact that it’s Monday, or how sick I’ve been feeling since Friday…

Instead, I am going to focus on the sun being out again today, and what a lovely morning I had at Rhodes Memorial with my good friend and her daughter who are down to prepare for baby number 2.

Rhodes Mem has always been a special place, we drove up there the morning before our Home Economics practical exam in Matric, and had some of the wine my friend was using in her recipe, and to this day, Jamiroquai’s Deeper Underground will always remind me of hurtling down the road from Rhodes Mem, music blaring, the car full of cigarette smoke. I also remember us getting kakked on by one of the teachers when we pulled into the parking lot, good times!

Toddlers: too damn cute for words, and a big hit with tourists

So when we got there we first took a little walk up the mountain, and little Camilla impressed all the tourists and hikers by walking by herself the whole way up.

Then we came down and had some breakfast. Well, I had scones, not the most healthy of breakfasts, but nevertheless. The view from the tea room is so amazing, and with good service, reasonable prices and a nice vibe, it’s by far one of the nicest spots to be on a warm morning in Cape Town.

This week should be interesting, I am in between projects so am sort of on holiday, so have had time to do stuff I have been wanting to get around to. One of these things is getting my other blog, Rox in the City, sorted and revamped – this has not been such a smooth going mission, but I am slowly getting there and am determined to do it all myself.

I get paid early this week, and am planning to go down to Greenmarket Square, where I haven’t been for ages. I am also hoping to take the semi-street boys I look out for out for Nando’s or something, and have lunch plans with various friends. I am very keen to make another Rhodes Mem mission too.

All in all, life goes on, zen levels fluctuate and things happen. Best thing we can do is make the most of every day, and see what the next one brings.

There was something that i wanted to tell you but now i cant remember, tired and cranky…beer is bad once more. Rhodes Mem looks so pretty havent been up there in ages…
Have decided that i am going to stay away from boys who are younger than me…
My incredible intelligence and life experiance prevent me from being able to have a normal conversation and then its about as bad as drinking 10 beers cause i lose more brain cells.

I think it’s just a change of season slash stress bug, and at least I can rest and take it easy, so should be up and running again soon. :-)

It’s a LOVELY day indeed – can’t wait til summer hits us properly. Hope your week is off to a good start!
