Special Agent Utah, too cool for school

I’ve always had a thing for robotic Keanu, ever since Point Break (which I must have watched close to 20 times in my formative years), so when I saw that it was on ETV last night, I was pretty thrilled.

This movie can be watched over and over again, without ever getting old. The lines are classic, the characters are hilarious, the fight scenes are epic and Keanu as Johnny Utah is just too brilliant for words. No one else can pull off wooden like Keanu, and roles that bring out his hot robotic vibe are always the best movies. He totally sucked in Sweet November (which was not only one of the worst movies ever, but also made him dress like a lumberjack and be happy – totally NOT hot) and his best role ever (possibly even more so than Point Break) was Johnny Mnemonic. The Matrix… I don’t know, I liked the first one and just never really enjoyed the rest.

Point Break will always be a classic though, even Patrick Swayze was hot in his role as hardcore surfer Bodhi, ooh and Anthony Keidis from the Chili Peppers even has a cameo role, which is only one line (“That would be a waste of time”) but he delivers it brilliantly – it’s one of the best scenes actually.

I have to own this on DVD, and also Johnny Mnemonic and possibly Roadhouse and Dirty Dancing now that I think of it.
