Today has been a bit of a weird blur, with hardly any sleep and a godawful early 7am start, I had driving lessons in the pouring rain, followed by a frantic last minute realization that the back license plate was coming off (which we stuck on with gum, tres McGuyver non?), a scary but somewhat raucous stint yakking to a girl who was also doing her test (for the 3rd time) just after me in the waiting area which got us a few dirty looks from the traffic department cybots, then on to the test at last…

Managed to land a really cool chick inspector, had the yard test almost waxed and just had the alley docking to do, when I hit a pole trying to over-correct myself to get the car straight. Game over, eh sorry sisi, sorry my lovie. Doh! Went back to face my poor instructor who looked even more gutted than I was, then came back home and had a bit of a mope which was not helped by the discovery that my stash was depleted. Felt better after an emergency dash to Woolies to get some food (having only eaten Corn Flakes at breakfast time the last 2 days) and some wine, and most importantly, Smarties. Smarties are essential in times like this, they are like super instant zen restorers. See, just writing about them I am feeling good again.

I’m feeling fine again now, had a much-needed sleep, have formulated a plan to redo the test in a quieter area to avoid the long wait at Greenpoint, have had the experience now, and will be watching out for those fucking poles next time! I know that the road test will be fine, and the rest of the yard test had been fine, just that crappy alley docking to deal with.

Whoops, Isidingo has started already and my wine should be chilled. Then I have to get some work done, ugh.

I remember blogging about smarties not too long ago, lucky brand!

Aaaw, sorry you didn’t make it Rox. :-(
Don’t worry – I’m sure you’ll get it next time. I almost killed one of the test dudes when I wrote mine (not the time they passed me)…

@ Chris, haha – I think I remember that post, where it was determined that although Smarties rock, they are not on a par with finest organic chocolate, lol. I have to admit though, they are cheery and zen-boosting, maybe it’s the bright colours. :-)

@ Louisa, thanks hun! I am feeling fine about it all today, will get it right eventually, lol.
