What’s Better Than PVD Coming To S.A?

Having Protoculture as one of the supporting acts…. Whoop whoop y’all!

For the unenlightened, Protoculture is the sheer brilliance that is PsyTrance music wiz Nate, who happens to be an S.A lad now based in Israel and worldwide. And he is a Peta supporter, who I might add is rather cute as well – but more than that, his sound is beyond belief, super super amazing indeed.

So hot, so talented, so married… sigh

Being a bit of a Paul van Dyk fan for many years, I was already pretty amped about his World Tour this year that includes a stop off at Atmospheer on March 7th. I don’t give a shit if it’s a kak venue, PVD makes it worthwhile, so I’m there like a bear.

Well, one of the few good things to happen today was me finding out that amongst the supporting line-up was none other than Protoculture, doing a live act!

God, I feel uplifted just looking at him on the decks

I think I honestly am more amped to see Protoculture than PVD – his Circadians album is probably one of my all time favourite PsyTrance albums ever. In fact, if happiness and sunsets and good fuzzy feelings were to be recorded, they would sound like Circadians or Oceanic. It really is that uplifting. And I keep missing the dude, every time he’s played at a Vortex or Origin, I wasn’t able to make it, so you can bet your ass I am not missing the PVD party! I don’t care if they move it to Vida e Cafe, I will still be there.

Here’s what you need to know if you’re anywhere near as excited for this as I am:

Date & Venue
7th March @ Atmospheer
Cnr of Castor & Pollux Rd

Tickets:
Computicket: R160
VIP: R220
Door: R180

DJ Line Up
Paul Van Dyk 3 hour set
Protoculture Live

Vanessa Holliday
Lil Phil

Sjoe, that just makes this hellish day a teeny bit more manageable. Other good things have included wedding rehearsals (not mine, my mate who’s getting married on Sunday), and trying on the gorgeous gold bridesmaid dress (which fits just right, yay), and also having a quick glimpse at my cousin’s perfect son… who is just 2 days old today. Other than that, it was a shitty one indeed, and only the Vodka and Apple Juice I’m sipping, and the knowledge that it’s Friday tomorrow is keeping me awake. That and my deadline, damn it to hell. Oh well.

Happy V.D people.

A while back I entered a comp to win a ticket to the PVD event and forgot about it. Then received an email today saying i had won a VIP ticket! I still contemplated whether i would brave the white glove and glowstick brigade, then i checked the line-up and saw that Protoculture was playing live! Stoked. Convinced. I love Protoculture’s tunes and Circadians gets blasted through my car cd player often. “I think I’ve found the map alluded to on one of the tablets…the artifact is constructed into the celing..and it is a magnificent find!”
I have also been missing him at the outdoor parties due to other commitments so am really looking forward to seeing and listening to PVD and Protoculture in the same line-up! Any idea who will play first? I have also been enjoying some of Roger Goode’s sets when he is in the right mood, so if he is on form, we are looking at quite a line-up. Any idea what Little Phil and Vanessa Holliday play? Line-up times anyone? Need to get some sleep in for work on Saturday so planning required!

Sjoe, way to go Ant – free tickets always rock hey. I also only really got excited when I found out Protoculture was playing, and I am longing for that moment when Circadians is played! That break…. kerist it’s perfect. Oceanic is another one of my favourites of his.

The only info I found was the stuff listed in the post – but there’s a Facebook group (which I think is called ‘Paul van Dyk World Tour’ or something that may have more info updated recently. The Atmospheer club website has bugger all, oh wait – it does have really bad grammar and writing, lol. I would guess that Protoculture will play fairly close to PVD, which would be maybe 2ish or so? Dunno. I’ll have another look around and see if I get any info.

Fuck, I am super amped – 1 more sleep! :-)

    Hey Rox

It would be cool to meet you – see you on the dancefloor for Circadians! Enjoy!

    Ciao
    Ant
