So much for thinking Kung Fu would be less hardcore than Muaythai…
Today we had a Sanda class, which did not involve gloves, but did involve punches. Bare knuckle punches, nice! And of course me being the show off I am, I had to go flat out, resulting in some very gangsta looking skinned knuckles. Raw, bashed and pretty sore before I put the Savlon on. Sjoe.

No, not that RAW
Overall though, the class was awesome. I have to get out of my Muaythai habits a bit, the stance and punches are different and bouncing is a no no, but it was cool to hit something again. The warm up was insane, much, much tougher than I’ve done before, and all on a wooden floor. You get a new respect for ‘conditioned knuckles’ when you do knuckle push ups on a wooden floor, believe me. I am walking like a robot, every single muscle in my body hurts… but it’s the good hurt, where you know that you are stretching your muscles and tuning them.
I need to find me some old phone books so I can get my knuckles toughened up. Oh and I also have to condition my arm bones, fun fun fun!
All in all, this week has been awesome – I finally feel like my mojo is back, and pushing myself to my limits is way good for the zen. I can’t wait for the next class!
ROFL! Not that dude again!

Haha, I still haven’t got myself a John Cena t-shirt you know, thanks for reminding me! LOL
Ouch!
Martin hun, if you saw what they look like, you’d really say ouch! They’re getting a bit less sensitive, but all weekend I’ve been knocking them against stuff by accident, then swearing like a trooper from the pain, lol.
